Whisky Concerto Recital 57.2 [Rise From The Ashes] Ardmore 2012 12 years old

Recital is the newest series from Whisky Concerto, launched in 2024, featuring whiskies selected by individual shareholders according to their unique preferences. Recital 57 represents the discerning taste of Richard & Winnie, co-owners of both Whisky Concerto and Cask Le Sens.

This exceptional bottling showcases an innovative maturation experiment by Richard & Winnie. The Ardmore single malt began its journey in a puncheon for 12 years. A small portion of this liquid was then transferred to a fourth fill oloroso octave cask — had previously hold a Benrinnes (duration unknown) and two Caol Ila for approximately 3 years combined. The Ardmore spent an additional 8 months in this octave, acquiring a distinctive peaty character that enhances the whisky's complexity.

Rise From The Ashes captures the whisky's transformation through its unique maturation. The name reflects both the enhancement of ashy flavours imparted by the previous Caol Ilas and the whisky's rebirth with newly developed characteristics that transcend its original profile. 

The tree ring pattern serves a dual purpose: highlighting the importance of wood in the whisky's development while echoing the contour line graphics found on the labels of Ardmore's original bottlings.
