About This Whisky

Cask Le Sens #5 x The WhiskyFind Inchgower 2009 16 years old

Description

As a distinguished cask broker specializing in premium whiskies and rums for independent bottlers and whisky enthusiasts, Cask Le Sens curates exceptional releases featuring rare and aged expressions.

Our fifth release continues to be a collaboration with another top-tier Taiwanese independent bottler, The WhiskyFind, who share similar philosophies with us in terms of whisky curation and maturation. The collaboration discussion has been in place for a while that both indies would like to select a whisky we both truly enjoy and then we encounter this beautiful Inchgower.

This exceptional whisky presents a masterclass in clean, well-managed sherry maturation that immediately transports you to the golden era of sherry cask whiskies. The nose opens with pristine sherry influence that no off-notes like sulphur or funky characters can be detected.

The palate unfolds with remarkable elegance, leading with rich dark chocolate that melts seamlessly into layers of brown sugar and the deeper, molasses-like complexity of demerara. There's a nice nuttiness like fresh walnuts that adds both texture and depth. The dried fruit characters (dried fig, raisin, prune) are perfectly integrated, offering some sweetness without being luscious.

This truly reminds us of the Glendronach or Glenfarclas produced in early 1990s that were matured in exceptional clean sherry casks.
